West Bengal Election: Bhatar Assembly Constituency 2022

Bhatar comes under the Barddhaman district and it is one of the 294 West Bengal Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Bhatar voted for West Bengal Assembly Election 2021 on April 22 and the result was declared on May 2.

Bhatar assembly constituency had 2,26,450 electors in 2016, out of which 1,15,817 were male voters and 1,10,633 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.9% votes.

What happened last time

In 2016, 5 candidates were contesting for Bhatar assembly constituency seat. Bhatar was one of 211 seats won by the Communist Party Of India (Marxist). It was a close contest with All India Trinamool Congress's Subhash Mondal winning the election upstaging Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Bamacharan Banerjee by a margin of just 6,280 votes.

The top two candidates split 91.5% of votes between them. All India Trinamool Congress's Subhash Mondal got a total of 92,544 votes, while Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Bamacharan Banerjee secured 86,264 votes. Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate Anjan Mukherjee secured 12,950 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 47.4%, 44.2% and 6.6% respectively.

In West Bengal Assembly election 2011, All India Trinamool Congress's Banamali Hazra defeated Communist Party Of India (MARXIST)'s Konar Srijit by 298 votes.
