Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday took to Twitter to condemn 'attack' on West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee which took place earlier this evening. Kejriwal and Banerjee have a common election strategist in Prashant Kishor, who managed the former's victorious campaign in last year's Delhi assembly elections and is managing the latter's campaign for the upcoming West Bengal assembly elections.

Yadav, meanwhile, met Banerjee in Kolkata last week and extended his support to her for the assembly polls.

Here are some reactions on Twitter after Banerjee claimed she was attacked 'by four-five men':

Arvind Kejriwal: I strongly condemn the attack on Mamata Didi. Those responsible should be immediately arrested and punished. I pray for her speedy recovery.

Tejashwi Yadav: I unequivocally condemn the cowardly & despicable attack on

@MamataOfficial ji by goons.

PS-WB police is now controlled by EC which is directed by BJP.

Nation knows that people who have no belief in democracy can stoop to any level to vent their frustration of fighting a lost battle.

Captain Amarinder Singh (Punjab CM): Disgusted to read of attack on West Bengal CM @MamataOfficial. Violence has no place in politics and civilized society. I wish her a speedy recovery. Those responsible must be put behind bars.

Mehbooba Mufti (PDP chief and former-J&K CM): Shocked by the reprehensible attack on @MamataOfficial at an election rally today. Shows the hatred & division that has possessed this country. My best wishes for her campaign & hope she recovers soon.

Harsimrat Kaur Dal (Shiromani Akali Dal MP): Strongly condemn the attack on #MamataBanerjee ji. Those responsible should be identified and arrested without any delay. I pray for her speedy recovery. Really a sad day in Indian democracy!

Akhilesh Yadav (SP chief and former UP CM): Very worried by reports that @MamataOfficial was injured in an attack. Wishing her a speedy recovery! high-level committee should be constituted to investigate immediately, so that the truth can be revealed.

Yashwant Sinha (former Union minister and ex-BJP leader): Shame on BJP. Instead of sympathising with Mamata injured in an attack they are making fun of it.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has already directed the Bengal chief secretary and special election observers to submit a detailed report to it over the alleged attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo, who is seeking a third term as the chief minister of the eastern state,
