Priyanka Chopra’s assistant, Jiban Patra, was found dead in his hotel room in Los Angeles, USA, last week. He was travelling with the actor to help out during the shoot of her music video with the international pop sensation, Pitbull, whom she’s collaborating with for her next single.

A source close to the actor reveals, “As Priyanka’s usual assistant couldn’t get his visa ready on time, her team took Jiban on board since he was already there (in the US).” A source, who was present at Jiban’s residence on the evening of April 23, reveals, “Priyanka dropped in with her mother to pay her respects. There was trouble getting the body back from LA, but Priyanka’s team worked relentlessly and the body reached India on Tuesday, April 23.”

The source reveals that the actor has also promised to help the bereaved family. “Priyanka didn’t work with Jiban for long, but since he was on her duty at the time of his demise, she has promised to do everything she can for the family. This means that she will be aiding them financially too.”
