Spy Bahu's Sehban Azim jokes Kareena Kapoor said yes to shoot show's promo because his brother is also named Taimur
Spy Bahu, that stars Sana Sayyad and Sehban Azim in the lead roles, will start airing on Colors TV on March 14 and will subsequently stream on Voot.
Kareena Kapoor recently shot a promo for Colors TV's new show titled Spy Bahu. The actor said that she is excited about the project since it has a female protagonist playing a spy, and also because it has a vibe like Yash Chopra's movies that have eternal love stories. Sana Sayyad and Sehban Azim, who will be playing the lead roles of Sejal and Yohan in the show, have expressed excitement about Kareena's promo and also joked that Kareena agreed to do it because she found a special connection of the show with her son Taimur Ali Khan. Asked about how Kareena came on board, Sehban told Pinkvilla, "I spoke to her and I said 'Kareena will you do this for us?' and she said 'Yeah of course Sehban, I'll do it.'" Sana interrupted Sehban to joke, "Yeah because Sehban's younger brother's name is Taimur." Sehban added, "That's true." He then said, "So that's how we spoke and she said why not, and when she got to know I was doing it she was even more happy."
Sana added that Kareena's endorsement means a lot for their upcoming show. She said, “It’s a big deal for me. She is a feminist and she is very you know like blunt and wo jo bolti hai ekdum fatak se muh pe (She speaks whatever comes to her mind). Bebo is Bebo and everybody knows her for that. And for a person like Kareena Kapoor Khan to endorse a television show itself has created a buzz because Bebo jaisa insaan is praising the show and she also appreciated the fact that a girl is playing a RAW agent and a spy so I am really happy about that and ya I think that’s what she really likes about the show.”
Spy Bahu also stars Parineeta Borthakur, Ayub Khan, Shobha Khote, Bhavna Balsavar among others. It will start airing on Colors TV on March 14 and will subsequently stream on Voot.
