Hindustan Times and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance’s India Couture Week 2018 opens with ace fashion designer Tarun Tahiliani’s couture and occasion-wear collection, In Elysium, which celebrates the modern Indian goddess, who embraces luxury as a way of life, on Wednesday.

In a couple of hours, actor Aditi Rao Hydari will walk down the runway in an awe-inspiring Tarun Tahiliani ensemble that promises to make any bride-to-be weak at the knees. Next, actor Kangana Ranaut struts down the ramp in a jewel-tone, lush Victorian era inspired ensemble from designer Anju Modi’s collection, A Maiden’s Prayer.

And thanks to a social media, you can watch and be a part if it as it all unfolds in real time — though nothing replaces actually being there and experiencing the high-energy sartorial event, this comes close.

We shall scan through the runway photos from India Couture Week 2018 (ICW 2018), identify trends and take a closer look at the details shortly. But for now we’re zooming in on the hair and make-up and the last-minute fittings by going behind the scenes. Backstage at ICW2018, see how models shine as they pose for photos and show off the handiwork of the incredible hair and make-up teams.

Take a look at some of the best backstage moments from day one of ICW 2018.
