The off-shoulder ruffled top inspired by French actor and 50s icon Brigitte Bardot’s style is the go-to choice for celebs this summer

Picking on its summer-perfect vibe, Bollywood beauties are going the Brigitte Bardot way with off-shoulder, ruffled tops. Here’s the celeb brigade, doing it their own way. Inspired by French fashion icon and sex symbol Brigitte Bardot, the pleated off-shoulder top made its debut in the 50s and 60s. Here’s a glimpse of Bardot’s classic style (below)

Actor Shraddha Kapoor’s styling is interesting. The temp tattoo-inspired neckbrace is adding a fun dimension to the look. While we personally prefer the cropped version, Kapoor’s pulling this look off!

Get the look: If you like keeping it basic on a first date, pick up a pleated Bardot top in classic white and pair it with a fool-proof pair of denims. And of course, there’s nothing that a red lip can’t spruce up!

Actor Sonakshi Sinha highlighted her collarbones, pairing her Bardot top with a black midi. While the look is easy-breezy, the style works across occasions. This one’s for a fashion week showcase, and it works for us because of the no-fuss hair and the dewy makeup. The coral lip and gold tinted hue offsets the look perfectly.

Get the look: Here’s an example of how the choice of makeup can also make an outfit shine. While the gold accents might come off as harsh on certain people, if the tones are well selected (check out Sona’s eyes), it can make your white Bardot-style pick stand out.
