Brenner scored a brace while Marcus Antonio produced a brilliant finish to guide Brazil to a convincing 3-0 win over Honduras in their FIFA U-17 World Cup encounter in Kochi. The South American champions will now face Germany in the quarterfinals. Brenner started the scoring for Brazil early in the game and Antonio doubled it just before the interval. 21:44 PM IST: A good attempt by Luis Palma but his shot missed the target by quite a margin. Brazil lead 3-0.

21:42 PM IST: Brenner seems to be limping, and is being treated outside the box.

21:27 PM IST: Carlos Mejia shoots from long range, and this time it’s his turn to be denied by the goal post. Honduras asking a few questions of the Brazilian defence here, but it seems a case of too little too late.

21:25 PM IST: Honduras’ Palma, who had hit the post in the first half, tries to curl in a shot from outside the box. It’s over and wide, but not very far away from the goal.

21:22 PM IST: Brazil sub: Alan comes off for Helinho. The former was a yellow card away from missing the next game, so this looks like a precautionary move.

21:21 PM IST: Beautful one-touch passing by Brazil. The ball falls to Marcos Antonio inside the box, whose shot is just wide.

21:19 PM IST: Game is all but over for Honduras at this point, surely.

21:15 PM IST: Brazil extend lead in controversial circumstances. Right back Wesley drifted in from the right and seemed to handle the ball just as he attempted to get past the keeper. The ball fell to Brenner, who slammed home from close range. The referee waves away the protests of Honduras players.

21:13 PM IST: Brenner scores for Brazil again! They lead Honduras 3-0 now.

21:10 PM IST: Brazil come close again. Luan Candido’s cross from the left finds Lincoln, but the striker is under pressure from the goalkeeper and is unable to control the ball for a shot.

21:09 PM IST: Paulinho is through on goal, but a last-ditch tackle by Honduras’ Gustavo Vallecillo robs him of the opportunity for a shot. It’s still 2-0 for Brazil.

21:03 PM IST: Honduras make two changes at the start of the second half. David Cardona is replaced by Joshua Canales, while Kenneth Martinez comes in for Patrick Palacios.

20:48 PM IST: The referee blows for half time. Brazil head into the break with a 2-0 lead, but Honduras will rue their luck after being denied an equaliser by the post when they were trailing 0-1.

20:46 PM IST: Meanwhile, Weverson is taken off after his injury. Luan Candido replaces him in the left back position.

20:43 PM IST: Marcos Antoni scores for Brazil! Paulinho lays off a clever pass towards the box for Antonio, who manages to evade the Honduran backline and finish off for a 2-0 lead.

20:40 PM IST: Slight concern for Brazil as defender Weverson goes down. He is taken outside the field of play for treatment.

20:36 PM IST: Paulinho tries to put a lobbed cross into the box. It lacks direction and goes over and wide of the goal.

20:33 PM IST: Brazil’s Lucas Halter loses the ball just outside his box, and Honduras’ Luis Palma shoots. He is agonisingly denied an equaliser by the goalpost.

20:29 PM IST: The teams head for a brief break towards the sidelines. Brazil have been the vastly superior side here. Honduras have struggled in possession so far.

20:24 PM IST: Brazil look very comfortable in possession. Bobsin, Antonio and Alan pulling the strings from midfield, while Honduras have resorted to playing long balls up front without much success.

20:20 PM IST: Delightful short passes between Alan and Marcos Antonio sees the former create space and shoot. His shot is parried away for a corner.

20:19 PM IST: A short spell of pressure from Honduras here. A cross from the left by Mejia is slapped away by keeper Brazao. Brazil defending in a pack here and forcing the opposition to play from the wings.

20:16 PM IST: Carlos Mejia finds himself in space on the left. He marches in and takes a shot, but is flagged offside just as his shot goes straight to keeper Gabriel Brazao.

20:13 PM IST: Paulinho creates some space for himself and shoots from outside the box. It’s straight at Honduras goalkeeper Alex Rivera.

20:10 PM IST: Brenner scores for Brazil! Alan makes a clever run into the box and meets the end of a pass, which he cleverly lays off to Brenner. The latter taps the ball into the net to give his side a 1-0 lead.

20:08 PM IST: Paulinho reaches the end of a pass at the edge of the Honduras box. His cross towards the middle, however, is way too deep. Honduras clear their lines.

20:06 PM IST: Right back Wesley crosses from the right, but teammate Lincoln is unable to control the ball. An early warning sign for Honduras.

20:04 PM IST: An early corner for Honduras. It’s a harmless ball into the box, and Brazil comfortably clear.

20:02 PM IST: Brazil’s Victor Bobsin loses the ball in midfield. Gerson Chavez shoots for Honduras, but it’s well off target.

19:36 PM IST: Brazil start with the same line-up that started against Spain and North Korea. Alan, who had been dropped against Niger as a precaution due to his yellow card, is back in today’s starting XI.

19:35 PM IST: Welcome to the FIFA U-17 World Cup match between Brazil and Honduras.

Brazil conceded 11 goals while scoring seven and the Honduras defenders will have to toil hard to keep the Brazil forwards at bay.

The South America U-17 champions have received excellent support from the local crowd at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium here and Wednesday’s match should be no different.

The Brazil players have admitted that the atmosphere has made it seem like they have been playing at their home ground. They will be eager to turn on the Samba magic against Honduras and give their new found fans plenty of reasons to cheer.
