Jogindra Group to invest ₹1,100 crore in Punjab across steel and renewable energy sectors
State minister says expansion to boost jobs, capacity and industrial activity in Mandi Gobindgarh.
Punjab is set to receive an investment of ₹1,100 crore from Jogindra Group across steel manufacturing and renewable energy sectors, state Industries and Commerce Minister Sanjeev Arora said on Tuesday.
According to the minister, the expansion plan includes ₹700 crore in steel operations through units such as Jogindra Castings and Vardhman Adarsh, and ₹400 crore in renewable energy projects under Jogindra Green India.
Arora said the investment is expected to increase the group’s turnover from around ₹3,000 crore to ₹5,000 crore, while employment is projected to rise from about 1,800 to 3,000.
The renewable energy capacity under the group is also expected to expand from 37 MW to 120 MW as part of the plan.
Highlighting regional impact, the minister said Mandi Gobindgarh, traditionally known as a steel hub, is witnessing renewed industrial activity with fresh investments and modernisation efforts.
He added that the expansion is expected to strengthen Punjab’s industrial base, generate employment opportunities and support the state’s transition towards cleaner energy.
Jogindra Group, established in 1992, has a presence in steel manufacturing and renewable energy, and operates primarily in northern India.
The minister said the state government continues to focus on attracting investments by promoting ease of doing business and supporting industrial growth.
