3 held for assaulting woman cop in Gurugram

Three women were arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman police official in a police station on Thursday night, following an alleged altercation regarding a complaint filed by them.

Kavita, station house officer, (SHO), women’s police station, said while discussing the case with a lady assistant sub inspector (ASI), who is also the investigating official, one of the women got into an argument and assaulted the police official and tore her uniform.
“The accused women threw the files and tore some documents. They hit the lady ASI. Other police officials at the station intervened and took them into custody,” said SHO, adding that the lady ASI did not sustain a serious injury.
Ramesh Kumar, SHO, Civil Lines police station, said the women were arrested on Thursday night.
A case was registered against the suspects under sections 186 (obstructing a public servant in discharge of public functions), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and other relevant sections of Indian Penal Code at Civil Lines police station, said police.
