Gurgaon: Armed assailants in SUV loot three crushers in Nuh

Attackers struck three crushing units in Nuh and fled with 2.41 lakh

In a daring heist, seven armed criminals travelling in a SUV robbed three crushers in Nuh adjoining Sohna in the wee hours of Saturday.

The armed assailants targeted three crushers in the Indri stone crushing zone and decamped with 2.41 lakh after holding the employees at gunpoint, the police said. The police has obtained the CCTV footage of the incident from two of the crushers and is trying to identify the culprits.

All the three robberies were committed in a span of 20 minutes after which the accused drove away in a Mahindra XUV after locking the employees. The assailants not only took the cash but also snatched the mobiles phones of the employees. They also cut the wires of the motorcycles to prevent anyone from following them.

A case has been registered at Rozka Mev police station, which is situated Nuh adjoining Sohna.

Sanjay Kumar, SHO, Rojka Mev police station, said that a group of seven armed persons came to these crushers between 2.30 and 3 am, which are situated closely and robbed 2.41 lakhs from the employees.

“The CCTV footage is being scanned and a team has been constituted to investigate the case. We have landed some clues and the culprits will be nabbed soon,” Kumar said.

According to the police, the assailants first struck at Super stone crusher and looted 1.75 lakh. They then targeted Khan Stone Machine and took away 52,000. From the third crusher Ahmad Stone machine, the criminals took away 14,000. In all three cases, the attackers held the employees and the cashier at gunpoint and after snatching the cash, they locked them inside a room. The robbers also threatened the employees with dire consequences if they dared oppose them.

Eyewitnesses said that the assailants had covered their faces and were carrying countrymade pistols and equipment to break locks. After carrying out the heist, the accused fled towards Indri in their XUV. During their stay at the crushers, they also beat two-three employees who tried to resist them.

Before carrying out the robbery, the gang did a recce of the crusher zone for over an hour for suitable targets. Three persons who were injured in the incident were admitted to a hospital in Nuh.
