Gurgaon: MCG likely to upload DLF assessment report on its portal next week

Officials of the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) said that the deficiency assessment report of DLF Phase 1, 2 and 3 is likely to be uploaded on its website next week for public review.
As per an order issued by chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, the MCG will take over DLF Phases 1, 2, 3, Palam Vihar, Suncity, Sushant Lok Phase-1, South City 1 and 2, and Ardee City to ensure proper maintenance and basic civic services.
Before formally taking over the colonies, the MCG conducted a deficiency assessment survey to get a sense of the existing civic services in these areas. Once the assessment report is out, DLF, the developer, and the respective residents’ welfare associations (RWAs) will be given 15 days to list their feedback or objections to the same.
DLF Phases 1, 2 and 3 were among the first private residential colonies to be developed in the city during the 1980’s. This after the Haryana government started leasing out land to developers for carving out residential areas for employees of private companies that started operating out of Gurgaon.
Over the years, the three colonies came to sprawl across 1,634 acres with an estimated population in excess of one lakh.
“The survey has taken into account the views of several RWA’s and hence there has been a delay (in compiling the deficiency assessment report). The report is being prepared and residents can browse through the details on the MCG’s official website,” MCG commissioner V Umashankar said.
The deficiency assessment report will list the findings of the on-the-spot survey conducted by a private consultant hired by the MCG. The report will include findings on drainage system, electricity and water supply, roads, sewage system, green belts and community areas.
After taking stock of the shortcomings, the MCG will give an option to the developer to either complete the work within six months or pay a lump sum to the civic body for it to do the job.
