The Gurugram Police Thursday booked a 35-year-old man for allegedly raping his 11-year-old daughter in DLF Phase-3.
The police were informed of the case Thursday evening by the girl’s mother after she was discharged from a private hospital. The girl was admitted there after her mother caught her husband assaulting her on April 19. The minor was given first-aid at Civil Hospital before being discharged, police said. She will be produced before the child welfare committee Saturday.
The mother told police that her husband forced himself on their daughter when she and their two other children were sleeping on the terrace.
Karan Goyal, assistant commissioner of police (DLF), said on the basis of the medical report and a statement from the family members, they have registered a case of rape under Section 4 (liable to fine) of the POCSO Act and 323 (assault).
“We are conducting raids at suspected locations to arrest the accused,” said Goyal.
