2 dead, 4 of a family trapped after landslide buries house in Uttarakhand’s Tehri Garhwal
One family member was rescued but four others were still trapped inside the collapsed house, officials said.
Two members of a family were killed and one was rescued on Wednesday when a landslide triggered by incessant rain buried their house in Ghansali town of Uttarakhand’s Tehri Garhwal district, local officials said.

Officials said four people are still trapped inside the collapsed house as rescue teams continued their efforts to save them. Ghansali’s nayab tehsildar Buddhi Mistri said the incident happened at around 4am when Mor Singh was sleeping along with his six family members inside the house.

“Their house got buried under the mud which came down due to the landslide trapping all of them in their sleep,” he said.
“The locals came out of their houses after hearing the sounds, only to see the entire house buried. They then informed the local police and authorities who rushed to the spot to initiate the rescue operation,” Mistri added.
An official said rescue operation by the State Disaster Response Force and other local authorities was on in presence of the sub-divisional magistrate, tehsildar and police.
