“Pained by the building collapse in Mumbai. In this sad hour, my thoughts are with the bereaved families and prayers with the injured. An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of the deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000,” says PM Modi.

The death toll in Kurla building collapse rose to 18 as four more persons declared dead. Total 32 injured reported, out of which 18 dead, 5 admitted and 9 persons have been discharged.

Sri Lankan opposition party Samagi Jana Balawegaya has announced to hit the streets this week demanding a change of government as the nation continues to battle its worst economic crisis.

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) national organiser Tissa Attanayake on Monday said that the party will launch "street battles" this week for a change of government and called for a joint opposition struggle against the present administration, news agency ANI reported.

Fadnavis had served as the chief minister twice. While he was able to complete his five-year tenure from 2014 to 2019 for the first time; his second term - in alliance with the NCP faction headed by Ajit Pawar - lasted only for 80 hours as he failed to ensure the support of adequate MLAs.

Out of the nine rescued injured crew and pasengers of ill fated ONGC helicopter, four have been declared brought dead at the Nanavati hospital.

The deceased have been identified as Mukesh Patel, Vijay Mandloi, Satyambad Patra and Sanju Francis.

These four were picked up by the Navy helicopter from the rig where the incident had taken place this morning and were taken to Pawan Hans airbase. From their four ambulance rushed them to Nanavati hospital where doctors declared them brought dead.

Delhi police seeks extension of arrested Alt News founder Mohammed Zubair's custodial interrogation by five more days, reports news agency PTI.

Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair was brought to Patiala House Court on Tuesday. He was earlier sent to 1-day police remand after being arrested last night over allegations of hurting the religious sentiments of a community.
