BJD's coordination & activities committee chairman Debi Prasad Mishra said the AAP losing polls in Delhi is "not the end of state-centric parties".

“The victory of BJP and the defeat of AAP in Delhi will have no impact on Odisha politics. Had a regional party lost polls in this region, it could have some impact on Odisha. But the case is not the same in the Delhi assembly elections. The regional parties are still ruling our neighbouring Jharkhand and West Bengal. The BJD is the principal opposition in Odisha by securing more votes than the ruling BJP in the previous elections,” Mishra said. (PTI)

Delhi election final results LIVE: ormer Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, poet and now a staunch critic of AAP and its convener Arvind Kejriwal, Kumar Vishwas, on Saturday recalled the 2011 Indian anti-corruption movement, accusing Kejriwal of derailing it for personal political gains.

Without taking Kejriwal's name he attributed the decline of that movement to Arvind Kejriwal and referred to him as "Duryodhan," a reference to the antagonist in the Mahabharata.

Vishwas credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for their meticulous election strategy. "I congratulate the people of BJP... PM Modi and HM Amit Shah played a very important role, did micro-level management," he said.

"13 years ago, a wave of political renaissance came in India, from where something good could have happened, that whole war, that whole struggle...the downfall happened because of a shameless man, a self-absorbed, insecure person who acted like Duryodhan. Delhi election final results LIVE: The BJP's success in the Delhi Assembly polls, where it won 48 seats on Saturday, was aided by various factors including its popular campaign songs two of which were rendered by party MP Manoj Tiwari.

The BJP profusely used four songs during its month-long campaign for the elections held on February 5, party leaders said.

The "Bahane Nahi Badlav Chahiye" (change not excuses needed) sung by Tiwari became campaign's most popular track conveying the message of engine change in Delhi that later on became an integral part of BJP's political attacks on Kejriwal led AAP's failures in the national capital, said party leader Neel Kant Bakshi.

Bakshi , creative director of all the four songs also including those voiced by Amit Dhull and former Azamgarh MP and Bhojpuri film star Dinesh Lal Yadav "Nirahua", said political messaging, catchy lyrics and rhythmic beats were crucial elements of these video songs. (PTI)

Delhi election final results LIVE: The BJP, which returned to power in Delhi after more than 26 years, managed to make inroads in constituencies dominated by various regional and socio-economic classes of voters, including Purvanchalis, Sikhs, Jats, and slum dwellers.

The party delivered an impressive performance in constituencies along the Haryana border, securing victories in nine out of the 11 seats.

The party also showcased a strong performance in constituencies like Laxmi Nagar, Sangam Vihar and Karawal Nagar, where there are over 15 per cent of Purvanchali voters, winning 25 out of 35 such seats.

In assembly constituencies like Najafgarh, Narela, and Bijwasan, which have five per cent Haryanvi voters, the BJP bagged 12 out of 13 such seats.

The party has also won four out of seven seats with slum dwellers in dominance.

Besides, out of 12 reserved seats, the BJP won four seats, including Mangolpuri.

The BJP has won three seats out of four with more than 10 per cent Sikh voters, 23 out of 28 seats like Hari Nagar, Janakpuri, and Rajauri with more than 10 per cent Punjabi voters, and two seats out of five with more than 10 per cent Gujjar voters. (PTI)

Delhi election final results LIVE: CPI(ML) Liberation general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya on Saturday claimed that the incumbency factor worked against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi, but it will also hit BJP-led NDA in Bihar, where assembly polls are due later this year.

He alleged that the Delhi polls were "not held in a free and fair manner" and that the Election Commission paid no heed to complaints of voter intimidation and manipulation of electoral rolls.

Delhi election final results LIVE: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut launched a sharp attack on the BJP and alleged that they won the Delhi assembly elections through ''unfair" means.

"The entire Cabinet of the government, as well CMs of various states, moved to Delhi for election campaigning and targeted so many people," Raut said.

"(BJP) spent a lot of money and filed false lawsuits on workers (of other parties). There were discrepancies in the voter list similar to what happened in Maharashtra, where BJP won, and that happened in Delhi as well. This is not a good win, and there is definitely some wrongdoing behind this," Raut added.

Atishi won the assembly seat by 3,521 votes, defeating BJP's Ramesh Bidhuri. According to the Election Commission, Atishi received 52,154 votes, whereas Bidhuri polled 48,633 votes. Congress' Alka Lamba secured third place with 4,392 votes.
