Guj CM Vijay Rupani killed in AI171 crash: Andhra CM, dep CM pour in condolences
CM and dep CM of Andhra expressed sorrow over Vijay Rupani's death in yesterday's Air India crash, calling him a humble leader dedicated to public service.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has condoled the demise of former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani, who was among those killed in the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad on Thursday, and called him a humble leader devoted to the people.
The CM said he was deeply anguished by the mishap that killed 241 people onboard the London-bound private carrier.
"The tragic loss of lives in the plane crash in Ahmedabad has left us all in deep sorrow. My heart goes out to those who have lost their loved ones. I offer them my condolences and pray that they find the strength to endure this immense grief," said Naidu in a post on 'X' late on Thursday.
Further, he paid tribute to Rupani, remembering him as a soft-spoken, humble leader devoted to people.
"My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who admired him. I pray for (the) peace for (of) the departed souls and a speedy recovery for the injured," Naidu added.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Rupani in the plane crash along with others.
"The tragic demise of the former CM of Gujarat, Rupani, in the Air India flight crash that occurred in Ahmedabad, along with other passengers, is deeply devastating. His journey was more than political - it was a true commitment towards public service," said Kalyan in a post on 'X'.
Rupani, who died in the plane crash, was known for his composed demeanour and firm administrative style.
The senior BJP leader, 68, who was the chief minister from August 2016 to September 2021, steered Gujarat through a critical post-Covid recovery phase.
