In an update posted on its official WhatsApp channel, the party said, "Administration & Police Not sharing medical reports or allowing to take phone inside the hospital room where Sonam is kept. Lawyer & personal doctors now allowed to meet."

In a post on X, Baby said, "Strongly condemn the detention of Sonam Wangchuk and Abhijeet Dipke by the Delhi Police. Instead of sacking the Education Minister under whose nose the scandalous leak of papers happened and dismantling the system that continues to ruin the future of lakhs of students, the government is coming down with a heavy hand on peaceful protesters."

He further alleged, "This displays the authoritarian attitude of the Modi government. Silencing dissent cannot be a substitute for accountability," he said.

Sonam Wangchuk hospitalised LIVE: Safdarjung Hospital on Saturday said climate activist Sonam Wangchuk was admitted at 7:40 am for medical care after concerns over his health during his prolonged hunger strike.

In a health update, the hospital said, "Mr Sonam Wangchuck was received and admitted at Safdarjung hospital for required health care at 7.40 am today."

The statement added, "He is weak due to prolonged fasting and dehydration. Although he is currently stable, he requires continuous observation, monitoring and treatment to restore his body parameters."

Sonam Wangchuk hunger strike LIVE: AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday criticised the Centre over the removal of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk from the Jantar Mantar protest site, saying the government should have engaged in dialogue instead of using force.

"Such arrogance is not right," Kejriwal said in a post on X.

"Instead of forcibly lifting them up, the Modi government should have talked to Sonam Wangchuk," he added.

Calling for reforms in the education sector, Kejriwal said, "Instead of crushing the cockroach movement, reform the country's education and examination system."

He further remarked, "The Modi government's defeat is in forcibly dealing with Sonam Wangchuk."

The protester also alleged that CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke was detained around the same time.

The officer also appealed to demonstrators to leave the protest site peacefully. "We request the protestors at Jantar Mantar to peacefully vacate the place at the earliest," Sharma added.
