Speeding car hits motorcycle in Gurugram, ED employee, friend killed
The accused driver of the speeding car was apprehended by the bystanders who then handed him over to the police.
A contractual employee of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and his friend were killed after a speeding car hit their motorcycle from behind near Lalji Hospital in Sector 12 of Haryana's Gurugram, police said on Friday.

The deceased have been identified as 26-year-old Rohit Kumar and his friend Abhishek Kumar, 27.

The duo were heading towards Old Railway Road around 1:00 am on Friday when a speeding car rammed into their motorcycle. They were rushed to a private hospital where doctors declared them brought dead, according to the police.
Rohit, originally from Rewari district in Haryana, worked as a contractual data entry operator with the ED zonal office for two years, while Abhishek, from Haryana's Bhiwani district worked with a local property dealer. The two friends lived in was accommodations in Gurugram's Mianwali Colony, police was quoted as saying.
"An FIR was registered at Sector 14 police station, and the accused car driver, Priyanshu Gupta, a resident of Adarsh Nagar, Gurugram, has been arrested. We are questioning Gupta and a probe is underway", said a senior police officer.

Another fatal SUV mishap in Gurugram
In another tragic accident in Gurugram, a three-year-old girl died after a resident of Gurugram's Sector-46 ran over her while reversing their SUV on Tuesday evening, police said on Wednesday. The driver is on the run and has yet to be arrested.
According to police, the incident occurred around 7:30pm as the victim was playing with other children at an empty plot next to her residence in the service lane, near Ambedkar Chowk, when a vehicle, identified as a Mahindra XEV-9e, backed into her, said police. The driver then fled the scene.
Locals who spotted the accident informed her family. They found her lying in a pool of blood and rushed her to a hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead, an official said.
On a complaint by the victim’s father, an FIR was registered against the driver under Sections 106 (causing death by negligence) and 281 (rash driving) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Sector-50 police station on Wednesday. With the help of locals, police identified the driver and the vehicle.
The victim and her family were from Bihar’s Sheikhpura district. Her father, Santosh Chaudhary, said strict action should be taken against the driver, who fled the spot without helping her.
