“IGMCH’s radiology department head RG Sood died as he was suffering from swine flu,” Senior Medical Superintendent Ramesh Chand told reporters.

Sood was admitted to the hospital on June 23 in a critical condition and was on ventilator.

Earlier, a 57-year-old tourist from Maharashtra died of swine flu at IGMCH on May 17.

The number of swine flu deaths in Himachal Pradesh has now risen to five this year, officials said.
