Two criminals killed in encounter by UP police
The two wanted criminals were intercepted by a police team near Bahalolpur canal n Ramnagar area of Barabanki.
Two criminals were killed in an encounter by the Uttar Pradesh police in Ramnagar area of Barabanki on Saturday. A police inspector and a constable were injured in the incident.
The criminals, who were wanted on several charges, carried a cash reward of Rs 50,000 each.
The criminals were identified as Muneer and Imran alias Ibrahim and were residents of Unnao district, police said.
“A pistol and cartridges have been seized from the two who were wanted in 17 criminal cases and were carrying a cash reward of Rs. 50,000 each,” Superintendent of Police, VP Srivasatav said.
The two men were intercepted by a police team headed by inspector Ramnagar KK Mishra after they were spotted near Bahalolpur canal. They opened fire on the police team in which the Inspector KK Mishra and constable Anurag Upadhyay were injured, police said. This led to firing from both sides and the criminals were killed in the retaliatory firing by the police.
The injured policemen were rushed to hospital where their condition is said to be stable.
The two criminals were wanted in several robberies near central Uttar Pradesh. They had carried out thefts and other crimes in Barabanki, Faizabad, Sitapur, and Unnao.
