'Where will jobs come from': Hemant Soren blames Centre policies for lack of employment, shutting of establishments
Hemant Soren accused the BJP of providing government jobs in the state to people from other states during its tenure.
Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday hailed his government for acting promptly for the future of the youth and criticised Centre’s policies, saying they were causing millions of students to lose employment and forcing establishments to shut down.
“The determination with which the state government is acting regarding the future of the youth is evident to you all. Meanwhile, policies formulated by the central government are causing millions of students to lose their employment and jobs, while small, medium and large establishments are shutting down. So, where will employment come from?” he said outside Parliament, news agency ANI reported.
He also accused the BJP of providing government jobs in the state to people from other states during its tenure.
“It is no secret that during the BJP's tenure, people from other states have secured employment here on a large scale. We have answers to every question raised by the opposition, but their ambitions are simply too vast. The situation is such that facing the truth has become extremely difficult for them,” he added.
“It is the impact of this very anguish that led to the House being adjourned ahead of schedule today—or at least, that is how it appeared to me."
His comments come after Jharkhand state assembly for adjourned sine die a day before schedule, as BJP MLAs continued to create a ruckus in the House over baton charge on students protesting against alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations in the state.

Legislators from the ruling and the opposition trooped into the well of the House and raised slogans against each other.
Amid uproar in the House, Soren said the CID probe into the alleged irregularities in the recruitment exams was underway, and claimed that agitating students accepted all reform measures proposed by the government, news agency PTI reported.
“The government's intention to bring reforms in the examination system and probe into the alleged irregularities in recruitment tests is clear,” he said.
Following his speech, the Speaker adjourned the House sine die, saying that he was forced to do so with a "heavy heart and pain".
Speaking outside the Parliament, Soren said blamed the Opposition for thwarting proceedings in the House and alleged that currency notes, brandished by BJP MLAs inside the assembly, were the foundation of their existence.
“We made every effort to ensure the House functioned, you witnessed currency notes being tossed and displayed in the House. Notes that are the very basis of their (BJP) presence here and the foundation of their politics. You are all aware of how money is being drained from the pockets of the poor, the needy, and young people like you since the BJP came to power. Today, you have seen exactly where that money is going,” he told reporters.
Chaos in Ranchi
The members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) clashed with police on Tuesday as protests in Ranchi intensified a day after police lathi-charged students marching towards the Vidhan Sabha.
Visuals showed activists climbing onto police vans amid widespread chaos. At least 110 activists were detained by the police, news agency PTI reported, citing police.
Thousands of job aspirants marched towards the Assembly on Monday, breaking through several barricades and clashing with police. As the protesters advanced towards the Assembly, police used water cannons near Jagannathpur Temple and fired tear gas shells to disperse them.
Several protesters said they were injured, while Ranchi police reported that 14 personnel sustained injuries during the clashes.
Student agitation has rocked Jharkhand, as protestors continue to be on an indefinite hunger strike at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium, alleging that the JMM-led government was attempting to "whitewash" the issue by entrusting the investigation to the CID.
The protest was organised by the JPSC-JSSC Reform Manch to protest examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).
