Indian cricketers enjoyed a rare day off on Friday from on-field action as well as the rigours of travel, in Kanpur, ahead of the third and the final ODI against New Zealand on Sunday.

With the three-match series level at 1-1, the hosts were engaged in other recreational sports such as playing a few rounds of pool, bowling as well as video games.

It has been a hectic season for Virat Kohli-led India, wherein they have faced West Indies, Sri Lanka and Australia since the Champions Trophy in June.

The ongoing series against New Zealand includes three ODIs and as many T20Is. Kohli’s team was put under pressure when the Kiwis sauntered to a six-wicket win in the first game at the Wankhede Stadium. But the hosts showed remarkable comeback when they levelled the series with a six-wicket victory in Pune.

However, Friday was not entirely a day off for the likes of Kohli and a few of his teammates, who hit the gym upon their arrival in Kanpur.

The T20I series starts November 1 at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi, a game which is set to be Ashish Nehra’s final international appearance.

The second T20I will be played at Rajkot on November 4, while he series will conclude at the newest cricket venue in India — the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram — on November 7.
