2 held with animal skins

A CBI team from Delhi on Thursday arrested two persons here with tiger and leopard skins and bones worth lakhs of rupees in the international market, sources said.

A CBI team from Delhi on Thursday arrested two persons here with tiger and leopard skins and bones worth lakhs of rupees in the international market, sources said.

“Our CBI team on a tip-off seized tiger skin worth Rs 15 lakh in the international market, a leopard skin worth Rs 70,000 and their bones valued at Rs 35 lakh,” CBI SP, Nagpur, John Thomas said.

The two accused, identified as Amit and Chana, were nabbed from the Bangalore-Patna Sangamitra Express which they boarded at Ballarshah station, he said.

They were brought to the CBI office, Thomas said.
