3 killed when train hits auto

Three people were killed and four others were injured, two of them grievously, when the Nandigram Express hit an autorickshaw at Manki near Wani in Yavatmal district today morning.

Three people were killed and four others were injured, two of them grievously, when the Nandigram Express hit an autorickshaw at Manki near Wani in Yavatmal district today morning.

According to reports reaching, the incident occurred when the autorickshaw, carrying seven persons, was hit by the train in an unmanned railway crossing.

The train, Nandigram Express of Central Railway, was on its way to Mumbai from Nagpur. Uday Dubal of Wani police station informed that all the three persons died on the spot.

Four persons were injured in the mishap. All the injured were rushed to the Wani Civil Hospital where, two of them were reported to be critical.

The deceased were identified as : Ramdas Tadas, the autorickshaw driver, Suresh Pimpurle and Sudhir Jagdale of Manki village. The auto richshaw was on it's way to Manki village from Wani. No passenger of the train was hurt in the accident, the police officer further informed.
