DIRECTOR OF the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya Prof Kishore K Basa has been elected as the chairman of the Anthropology and Behavioural Science Wing of the Indian Science Congress. Prof Basa?s election was announced during the Congress held in January.

Prof Basa would be chairing the convention of the ISC to be held in Noida in January 2007. He has also been nominated as the chairman of the Archaeology wing of the Indian History Congress. The convention of this Congress would also be held next year.
An academician par excellence, Prof Basa completed his Ph D from London University in 1991 and was awarded the Commonwealth Post-Doctoral Fellowship of the Cambridge University between 1999-2000. He also delivered the Platinum Jubilee lecture at the convention of the Anthropology and Behavioural Science wing of the ISC in Chandigarh in 2004.
