Assembly election in-charge of Congress in the State and former MLA, Imtiyaz Mohammed Khan, told mediapersons that this time those involved in
the ‘parikrama’ of New Delhi and big leaders would not be considered while allotting party tickets for the Assembly elections.

Ironically most of those present in Khan’s meeting were popular figures or had patronage of senior leaders of the party.

When pointed out, Khan turned poetic and said the party would select a real diamond only.

When asked why was this not done earlier, Khan said a mistake had been committed earlier but now it was being rectified and only those would get tickets who were active among masses.

Khan lambasted the Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and Bharatiya Janata Party in one breath and said that Mulayam Singh Yadav, Mayawati and Kalyan Singh became chief ministers because of caste politics in the State.

Targeting Mulayam Singh Yadav specifically, Khan said for him 27 per cent reservation for OBCs only meant benefit to Yadavs. He said maximum number of Yadavs had benefited in the recruitments carried out in the State.

Khan also claimed that Muslims were disenchanted with Mulayam and were coming with Congress.

Making a scathing attack on Kalbe Jawwad and Ahmed Bukhari for the formation of PDF and UDF, respectively, Khan said both were religious people and should stick to the same and not jump into politics. He said whenever Muslims were in trouble it was the Congress which helped them.s
