In a letter to his Karnataka counterpart S M Krishna, he said a joint team could regulate water use to ensure that the authorised and entitled ayacut receives the water in both the states in the ensuing kharif and Rabi seasons.

Naidu pointed out that upper riparian Karnataka was drawing excess water over above it's alloted share of 1.2 TMC.

"This was acknowledged by exchange of information on several occasions", Chief Minister pointed out in the letter copy of which was sent to Union Water Resources Minister Arjun Charan Sethi.
