There’s no bigger high than catching a movie or a match with family and friends in the comfort of one’s home. But when it’s the Football World Cup, you’d rather catch the action live. Better still, create a perfect soccer zone at home and watch the game with.

For the love of game
Interior designer Punam Kalra says she recently designed a 7 ft by 4 ft glass panel with a painted image of Brazilian soccer player Ronaldo Ronaldino and his trophies for a young boy’s room.

But not everyone can afford a interior designer for their home decor. How about giving some sporty feel to your home on your own? There are range of football inspired home decor products available in the market. “Round black and white mugs, stools that look like football are much sought after these days,” says interior designer Nupur Gupta.

Managing Director of Adidas India Andreas Gellner says, “Fans are hooked on to the Jabulani football worth Rs 4,999. It has now got a decorative value attached to it and it is selling like hot cakes.”

Home linen in colours matching the jerseys of the participating teams is also a cool idea. Such linen items are easily available in Sarojini Nagar and Lajpat Nagar markets.

Pasting the pictures of your favourite teams and footballers on a dull corner of the home is an old and popular idea. “One can stick one’s favourite player’s posters using double-sided adhesives easily available in the market. The curtains, pillows and bed covers could also be colour coordinated according to the team you are supporting,” says Mandeep Nagi of Shades of India.
