Cow-dunk and mud based pictures were made in several localities including bank of river Ganga at Assi Ghat, Tusli Ghat and several other places.
Women and girls, in different groups, thronged the puja sites and paid their obeisance to Lord Krishna by offering garlands and sweetmeats. Later, women and girls sang songs and told stories related to Lord Gobardhan to each other.
One could see women and girls hearing religious stories for the well-being of their family members.
Members of Sri Krishna Yuva Yadav Mahasabha took out a grand ‘Yadukul Govardhan Shobhayatra’ in Varanasi on Sunday to mark the Gobardhan Puja celebration. Amidst religious ferver, the devotees and volunteers of Mahasabha took out the Shobhayatra from Lahuraveer and after passing several routes, it terminated at Gobardhan Dham in Rajghat.
Attractive tableaux depicting stories related to Lord Krishna were displayed in the procession.
