Sourav Ganguly, Virender Sehwag, Anil Kumble and Parthiv Patel joined the Indian squad after arriving from Delhi on Saturday.

While the rest of the squad had reached Lahore on Thursday, the four players stayed back after being instructed by the BCCI to play in the sixth round of Ranji Trophy matches for their respective state sides.

Before his departure in Delhi, Ganguly exuded confidence that he will perform to the best of his abilities in the high-pressure series.

"I performed well in Ranji Trophy matches and will try to do well in the series against Pakistan. I am confident of doing well," he told reporters.

On India's prospects in the series, he said the team has been playing well recently and there was no reason why it would not do well in Pakistan.

"India performed well in the last series. We have been playing well. We will definitely do well in this series."
