His party leaking, Lalu Prasad fills up his swimming pool
RJD leader hires a vaastu specialist after political setbacks like close aide Ram Kripal Yadav deserting him. The specialist advises him to top up a pool located in the middle of Rabri Devi’s sprawling 10, Circular road bungalow campus.india Updated: Mar 13, 2014 11:09 IST
In a sink-or-swim situation, filling up a pool with mud may sound like a strange remedy.
But that’s exactly what a vaastu specialist has prescribed to RJD chief Lalu Prasad after his ‘hanuman’ — Ram Kripal Yadav — walked out on him.
The pool, located in the middle of Prasad’s wife Rabri Devi’s sprawling 10, Circular road bungalow campus, apparently signified emptiness and mirrored the steady exodus from the party. It was also full of negative energy.
On Sunday, work began at full swing. And already, the 10 by 10 gleaming tiled pool, built in 2006 when the family shifted after the 2005 assembly poll debacle, is choked with mud and garbage.
There could be more alterations in the pipeline. The seating arrangements for guests and supporters may also be modified. And the podium from which the RJD chief addresses the people needs to change direction.
Prasad’s family, though skeptical, is standing by him.
“Somebody has advised my father about it, so we are getting it done,” admitted his son and heir-apparent, Tejaswi. Daughter Misa, who will have to face Ramkripal in the contest for Pataliputra, was emphatic: “I believe in god, not vaastu shastra.” Evidently, the political and legal reverses of the last few years has not shaken Prasad’s faith in astrology.
Last year, he had visited Shirdi’s Sai temple, the Nashik jyotirling, the Shani temple at Shani Shingapur, and the Hariharnath Kshetra and the Thawe temple in Bihar for a favourable verdict in the fodder scam.
Last August, he visited a Pagla Baba — a local occult practitioner. But one and all, they let him down.
The RJD leaders privately suspect it is Prasad’s style of functioning that is digging his political grave and filling up the pool may not help. What has possibly slipped their minds is that the pool had been built for Rabri Devi’s chhaat puja and in filling it up, Prasad might be running a risk of falling afoul of the sun god.
