Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak on Saturday said its first passing out batch has got 100% placement in various companies, with an average salary of Rs 12.22 lakh.
Stating this during the institute's first convocation function, IIM director P Rameshan said the final placement offers came from companies such as HSBC, Cognizant, Tata Power, BPCL, Ernst & Young, Tata Steel, Pfizer, Mother Dairy, Tata Motors, HDFC, Yes Bank, and Titan.
He said this institute is the only IIM located strategically in the National Capital Region of India and is the 8th IIM to be established in the country.
IIM Rohtak is the fifth IIM to get membership of AACSB, the most coveted international accreditation agency.
B Muthuraman, president CII and vice chairman Tata Steel and Ravi Kant, vice chairman Tata Motors were also present at the occasion.
In his address, Kant lauded the efforts of institute in marking its presence in the national scenario in a short span of time and elaborated on the importance of nurturing leaders capable of navigating ambiguity of emerging markets.
He said that the Institute's intent is to be known for engaging in authentic contemporary research on societal, organisational and individuals' challenges and choices.
On the occasion, 47 students of the PGDM Batch 2010-12 were conferred diplomas by Ravi Kant. Two Gold Medals were also awarded. The one for the best scholastic performance went to Shivank Sharma and the one for the best all round performance went to Ankush Jain.
