Infosys head to join Entrepreneur board

Narayanamurthy has been a strong supporter of TiE and has a long association since its inception.

Infosys Technologies Ltd co-founder NR Narayana Murthy is joining the board of trustees of The IndUS Entrepreneurs (TiE) - a worldwide network of entrepreneurs and professionals of Indian origin started in the US.

"We are delighted to have an icon and a role model like Narayana Murthy join our board as a trustee," said Apurv Bagri, chairman of TiE global, which now has 44 chapters in nine countries and a membership of over 12,000.

Murthy - chief mentor of Infosys - has been a strong supporter of TiE and has had a long association with the organisation since its inception in the US in 1992, he said in a statement.

"With a network of chapters across a number of countries, TiE is well positioned to continue its growth trajectory and make an impact on economic development," Murthy said.

Entrepreneurs, executives and professionals, who have their roots in the Indus region, founded TiE in 1992. The organisation fosters entrepreneurship globally through mentoring, networking, and education.
