Disappointed over his exclusion from the Pakistan-bound Indian Test team, wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Kaarthick has vowed to prove the selectors wrong by shining with the willow in the coming domestic fixtures.

"Yes, I am definitely disappointed to miss out on the Pakistan tour," the young cricketer told at the Eden Gardens on Monday.
Kaarthick, who is in the city to turn out for Tamil Nadu in the four-day Ranji Trophy elite group A match against Bengal beginning Tuesday, seemed determined to catch the eyes of the selectors with his batting.
"Batting is the bottomline in the present scenario for a wicket keeper to be chosen. I want to prove the selectors wrong with my batting," Kaarthick said.
He said batting on the greentop at the Eden Gardens would be a challenge. "I have been batting well recently. I hope to continue the good show".
Asked how he rated himself against the Indian team's new wicket-keeper batsman M S Dhoni, Kaarthick said, "Our styles are different. One shouldn't compare the two of us".
Kaarthick said he had played against Bengal's star cricketer Sourav Ganguly only once in the challengers and was looking forward to playing against him in the Ranji match.
