The MCG commissioner has already sent the agenda for the first house meet to all 35 councillors. The agenda lists eight points, including expansion of revenue generation, widening the definition of business for the purpose of licence fee, giving permission to build a road in Sector 54 to a private coloniser and selling land for the construction of a special economic zone by ASF Buildwell.

Besides, the house may constitute three permanent committees and sub-committees to carry out jobs like sanitation, development, building of roads, enforcement, vigilance, town planning, etc.

According to Section 40 (1) of the Haryana Municipal Corporation Act, there will be committees for sewerage and water supply, building and road, house tax assessment and finance and contract sub-committee. The committees will have a chairman and a vice-chairman. But decisions like the number of members in the committee and their duties will be taken in the house meeting.

The contracts committee will have six members - mayor, senior deputy mayor, deputy mayor, commissioner and two members. It will look into the contracts awarded to private contractors by other committees like road or building

On Saturday, mayor Vimal Yadav met all senior officials of the MCG and asked them to file a report on the expenses incurred by the corporation on development activities. "They have asked for a week's time to present the report," he said.
