A moderate intensity earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter Scale shook Andaman islands Saturday morning, MeT office said in Pune.

The quake hit the islands at 1009 hrs and its epicentre was located at a latitude 11.3 degree North and a longitude of 91.3 degree East.
