Singhavi directed the CHC superintendent to cut the ‘missing’ officers’ salary and demand written explanation for the absence.

Singhavi directed the superintendent to conduct regular inspections of the new primary health centres in Handia and to ensure that the residents got all the medical facilities. He said that any indiscipline on the part of doctors and nursing staff would not be tolerated. “The medical officers have to stay at the health centres during duty hours.

They are not suppose to go on leave without taking prior permission from the concerned officer,” he added.

Meanwhile, a six-member lab technicians team arrived here from the Lucknow regional director (health) office, to study the incidents of malaria in the region.

The team visited Koraon on Friday. It also identified malaria patients, who had become resistant to chloroquine tablets. “The team will stay here for another ten days and study the malaria cases in the region,” said district malaria officer DN Shukla.
