Rajputs block Ambala-Hisar highway

To protest against the screening of serial Jodha- Akabar, volunteers of Rajput Youth Brigade blocked the Ambala-Hisar state highway for over one hour near Aggarsain Chowk on Monday.

To protest against the screening of serial Jodha- Akabar, volunteers of Rajput Youth Brigade blocked the Ambala-Hisar state highway for over one hour near Aggarsain Chowk on Monday.

Rajput Sabha president Rambir Chauhan and RYB president Jitender Rana led the protestors who said that history had been distorted and the community was being shown in a poor light. They also said that an imaginary character Jodha Bai has been created to disgrace the community.

Haryana Balmiki Sabha state president Sanjay Gharu who had also joined the protests said that the sabha was with the Rajputs over the issue.

Following the blockade, the motorists had a harrowing time and a large number of vehicles lined up on both sides of the road leading to a traffic jam.

The blockade was lifted when deputy commissioner of police Vinod Kaushik reached the spot and assured the members that the local cable operators would be requested not to air the serial.

Later in the evening, a meeting of cable operators of Ambala, Sahazadpur and Naraingarh, was held at SDM Mukesh Ahuja's office where the operators accepted the administration's appeal for not airing the serial.The SDM said that the sentiments of the community would also be conveyed to the government.
