Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officials, looking after the security of the Babatpur airport, have restricted entry of visitors, accompanying passengers. Only authorised air passengers are being allowed entry into the terminal. A close watch is being kept by security personnel on passengers also.

Intelligence sleuths have been activated throughout the district to keep an eye on sensitive and crowded places.
Sleuths of Government Railway Police and Railway Protection Force are engaged in checking coaches of trains and suspicious passengers at railway stations in and around Varanasi.
Meanwhile, preparations are in full swing for Republic Day celebrations on Thursday. A series of functions will be organised by government and non-government organisations to mark the occasion. Several cultural and sport events by students of schools and colleges will also be held.
The main government function will be held at the Police Lines ground where Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Virendra Singh will be the chief guest.
The minister will watch the parade by policemen and students of different schools.
Yoga trainer Vijay Prakash Mishra will demonstrate his skills on the occasion. He will get a long piece of stone placed on his chest and it will hammered by another man.
A Republic Day function will also be held at the ampitheatre ground where vice-chancellor Prof Punjab Singh will hoist the national flag and inspect a parade by NCC cadets. The NCC cadets of Central Hindu Girls School will present a cultural programme.
The vice-chancellor will also address teachers, students and employees. On the occasion, he will present awards and citation to teachers and employees of the BHU for their outstanding contribution to the varsity.
A series of functions will also be held in the MGKV to mark the function. Vice-chancellor Prof Surendra Singh will hoist the national flag and inspect a parade by NCC cadets. He will also address teachers, students and employees.
Sampurnanand Sanskrit University (SSU) vice- chancellor Prof Ashok Kumar Kalia will hoist the national flag and address members of varsity at the sport grounds on the campus.
In the same way, the general manager of the Diesel Locomotive Works will mark the function.
A series of cultural and sports events will be organised to mark the function on the central sports ground of the campus at Kakarmatta.
