The royal bahus of Patiala are at work in the rain-drenched constituency of Samana.
Minister of state for external affairs Preneet Kaur, who is the wife of Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh, is focusing on Samana, the constituency of her son Raninder Singh, in addition to Patiala Urban, from where her husband is contesting.
Says Preneet, “It’s hectic but I am managing both the seats, apart from seven other assembly segments of my parliament seat.”
While Preneet is touring the villages, Raninder’s wife, Rishma Kaur, is busy interacting with the people of Samana town.
“Vote for my husband for better future of the coming generation and overall development of city,” Rishma appealed to the people of Samana, where Raninder is facing Shiromani Akali Dal’s Surjit Singh Rakhra.
Rishma holds eight to ten meetings in different areas every day, but prefers one-to-one interaction to addressing large gatherings."The Patiala seat (Amarinder’s constituency) is almost through. So I have asked my daughter to look after it. I visit this seat in the evenings, but I am focusing on Samana right now. I want to cover entire constituency by January 23. Then I will shift to Patiala again," Preneet told HT.
“Captain Sahib is going to play a vital role in next Government, so vote for Raninder to get a direct link to next government and overall development,” she urges the voters.
Meanwhile, Jaiinder Kaur, daughter of Amarinder, has come from Delhi, to campaign for her father.
“I brief her for the meetings in the morning and in the evening I personally meet the party workers.”
Jaiinder said “The city residents are not new to me....I take the feedback from every mainstream leader and assign them their roles. At the end of each day, I plan for the next day after discussing the daily scenario with my mother.”
