Vladimir Putin has called for resumption of talks based on "new realities" following the coming to power of Hamas.

Russian President Vladimir Putin called on Tuesday for a resumption of Israeli-Palestinian talks based on "new realities" following the coming to power of Hamas.

"It is necessary to face the new realities in a constructive and pragmatic way, including what has happened as a result of the recent democratic elections in Palestine," Putin said in a statement to participants of an Arab League summit in Khartoum, the Kremlin said.
