This temple, adjacent to the Kashi Vishwanath temple was acquired by the Temple?s Trust five years back in the name of beautification. The local devotees and Shiv Sainiks had at that time expressed their anguish over the administrative decision.

Shiv Sena leaders Ajay Chaubey and Gulshan Kapoor said during the month of Sawan, all Shivlings of Lord Shiva should be worshipped with Gangajal. They said the administration had banned the entry of devotees into these temples for last five years.
The Sainiks had gathered at the district office at Chowk and later went to Lalita Ghat where they took the Gangajal and left for the temple escorted by the jawans of Rapid Action Force (RAF). The Sainiks first of cleaned the floor of both temples and later performed worship of Shivlinga.
Kanwaria dies in mishap
A 30-year-old Kanwaria, identified as Chhedi Lal, a resident of Karchana area in Allahabad, died in a road mishap on the GT Road in Mirzamurad area in the wee hours on Saturday. He was hit by a fast moving heavy vehicle on way to Varanasi to take a holy dip in the Ganga. Meanwhile, the Railway Police Force (RPF) cops arrested 10 without ticket and suspected persons from the Manduadeeh railway station here on Saturday. The arrested persons have been booked under the Railway Act.
Religious procession A religious procession under the joint banner of Shiv Ganga Prabhat Pheri Samiti and Ma Ganga Seva Nagrik Samaj will be taken out in Varanasi on Sunday.
Founder of Seva Samiti Ramparasad Jaiswal said that the religious procession will be taken out from Nati Imli area and after covering several places, the devotees would perform Jalabhishekh of Lord Shiva at Mahamrityunjay Temple from where they will proceed to Kalbhairao Temple.
