A Bench headed by Chief Justice YK Sabharwal declared the PIL 'dismissed as withdrawn" after the petitioner preferred to withdraw it on finding that the court was not interested to entertain it.

The petition filed by Supreme Court Young Lawyers Association had also sought a direction for debarring them to contest election for either of the House.
