Stepfather tries to rape daughter

A girl today accused her stepfather of attempting to rape her when her mother had left home for work.

The police then raided his house and arrested him.

“My father tried to exploit me sexually when my mother had left home for work around 8am on Sunday morning,” Nisha (name changed) told media persons at the police station.

However, the father denied the allegation. “Can a father rape her daughter?” he asked.

Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) PN Singh said: “Allegations made by the girl are serious. We are investigating the matter.”

The victim’s mother said: “He should be severely punished.”
