Subhash Chand, Vijay Raghav and Rajesh Kumar – who trade in flowers — were about to have their dinner around 10.30 pm on Sunday when four other men arrived and called the waiter serving them food.

The group having dinner objected and this led to a scuffle.

Sandeep Kumar, Nanak and Sompal – members of the group who arrived later — fired with pistols and attacked with sharp weapons, the police said.

A bullet hit Vijay Raghav in the abdomen, leading to his death. His two friends were seriously injured due to multiple stabbing, their family members said. The two injured were taken to the district hospital from where they were referred to a private hospital. “They both are in ICU and have been operated. Their condition is still critical,” said Satpal Singh, brother of one of the injured.

“We have arrested two persons and have registered the case. The other absconding will be arrested soon,” said SSP L. Ravi Kumar.
