Earlier in the evening, Bharti had held a demonstration against price rise at the city's Neelam Park, where most of the agitations are held.

After the demonstration she moved towards the Raj Bhawan to submit a memorandum to Jakhar, which the police did not allow and arrested her along with her supporters.

“We didn't have any objection in her meeting the governor and submitting the memorandum. But, she wanted to take over 1,000 supporters to the Raj Bhawan which was not possible," Bhopal's Additional Police Superintendént G.K. Pathak told IANS.

Bharti and her supporters were arrested and released after about an hour.
