A police officer spotted the two-foot-long alligator and informed the police control room after which a search team from the zoo authority was deployed to catch it but failed. “The alligator made his way through the zoo besides which the river flows,” said a forest official seeking anonymity.

Policemen too faced hurdles in controlling the crowd that had gathered around the place to see the alligator, thereby causing traffic congestion on the road.
