In the May-11 incident, city district vice –president of Shiv Sena and property dealer Vinod Raghuvanshi was shot at inside his office at Vishakha Colony by unidentified persons. Raghuvanshi was rushed to district hospital of Khargone and was later referred to Indore. He sustained serious injuries on his head.

According to superintendent of police (Khargone) Amit Singh , a dispute over Rs 25-lakh transaction between Raghuvanshi and one Golu Yadav and his family was the reason behind this attack.

“Golu’s uncle Rajendra Yadav had hired some contract killers from Pune for Rs 80,000 and Rs 40,000 was given in advance. The contract money was handed over by Rajendra’s son Nitin in Pune,” said the SP.

“Rajendra has been detained and the rest will be arrested soon as teams have been sent to Pune and Nasik,” said Singh adding, “We will also investigate about Rs 25 lakh and the source of amount, for which we are taking help of income tax department.”

In the second case on May 14, the city president of Shiv Sena, Vijay Dandir, was attacked by some miscreants at Narayan Das colony with a sharp-edged weapon. Dandir said that one Aarfaat is behind the attack. Police, however, said Dandir was attacked with wooden sticks.

“We have arrested Aarfaat on Dandir’s complaint and are retrieving all the CCTV footages of the city to find out where Aarfaat was when the incident took place,” said the SP.
