"Today, I remembered very much Rajiv Gandhi who used to say that I would be able to dislodge the Marxists from power one day," Banerjee said.
"I have to carry on the fight against CPI(M) for a long time," she said.
Banerjee said she was opposed to forcible acquisition of land and wanted that rights of farmers and agricultural labourers were protected.
"I will prepare a land policy for Bengal. I also would like the Centre to prepare a land policy soon," she said.
