In an Instagram throwback to their 2024 vacation in Maldives, the author and former actor shared a montage of what was supposed to be a serene beach getaway. Instead, as Twinkle Khanna puts it, the trip came with 'built-in pranks' and a healthy dose of 'chaos'.

What’s happening in the ‘masterpiece’ video?

The video is a comedic 'expectation vs reality' reel of the couple’s Maldives vacation. It captured several key moments that explain why Twinkle thinks twice about delegating tasks to her husband, affectionately called 'Mr K'.

The video showed Twinkle's chic oversized sun hat — and in a funny turn of events, Akshay accidentally dropped this 'beloved' accessory into the ocean, leaving Twinkle unable to 'pull rabbits out of a wet hat'.

Twinkle also revealed she tried to 'slow down' by handing over the GoPro duties to Akshay. "I tried slowing down and delegated the underwater GoPro to him and this is the ‘masterpiece’ we got," she wrote in her caption.

The resulting footage was a dizzying, shaky, and often upside-down perspective of the coral reefs — a far cry from a professional nature documentary. Despite the underwater filming fail, the video featured beautiful footage of dolphins jumping alongside the boat, proving that nature provided the entertainment Akshay’s camera skills couldn’t.

Interspersed with the 'chaos' are shots of their Maldives resort’s circular architecture, candlelit dinners by the pool, and the couple walking hand in hand on the jetty, showing that even with a lost hat and blurry videos, the trip was a dream. Twinkle ended the caption of her Instagram Reels with a relatable question for her followers: “What is the one holiday task you should never delegate to your partner?

‘Never give your camera or mobile to your loved ones’

The video has since garnered attention with fans praising the couple's sense of humour and Twinkle's signature wit. It served as a reminder that even the most glamorous celebrity vacations are prone to the same clumsy, hilarious moments that make for the best memories.

A comment on Twinkle's post read, "You should never delegate to shoot pictures and videos to your partner for adventures." An Instagram user also shared, "Never give your camera/mobile to your loved ones on a trip. What if it accidentally falls off? You can't say anything to them, especially if they are too close."
